Active into Autumn 2024
The Blackpool Place Based partnership is hosting a series of community health and wellbeing events across Blackpool in October- four local community events, then a larger celebration to finish the week at Blackpool Winter Gardens.
Who are we?
The Blackpool Place Based Partnership is a group that brings together NHS organisations, local authority and voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector colleagues to deliver health and social care in Blackpool. Read more here.
What are the events about?
We’re showcasing a range of things to do and get involved in across Blackpool. We’re also bringing local services into the community.
The four FREE local events give you the chance to meet new people, find out what’s on near you, and get more information about help and support available.
The big FREE celebration at the Winter Gardens will give you the chance to find out about the wide and exciting range of activities and services across the whole of Blackpool - come and join us!
Blackpool Teaching Hospital's Musculoskeletal (MSK) team will be at all of the events throughout the week - anyone waiting to see the MSK team will receive a text message inviting them to come along and have a chat, or why not pop in and speak with a specialist physiotherapist who can provide information and suggestions on how you can improve your health and increase your activity!
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the organisations who have helped put this week of events together. The events couldn’t happen without the kind donation of time and support from so many people, and we are very grateful.
Winter Gardens - we've got exciting stalls, and activities throughout the afternoon:
12.30pm to 1.30pm – Blackpool Male Voice Choir – come along and listen to the wonderful choir who will be singing for us in the main hall.
1.30pm to 1.40pm and 2.30pm to 2.40pm –Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB transformation team – Pavilion - ‘Your health. Your future. Your say.’
Come along to be informed and involved in decisions that will help the NHS recover from the long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and transform to be fit for the future.
Learn about how the NHS will work in the future, making a move from hospital-based support to more services being provided in the community and closer to home for many people.
Share your views on clinical service transformation, specialist centres of excellence, and the future of our hospitals.
