Carbon reporting tool for Trusts

A regional task and finish group have been working on how to better support NHS Trusts with carbon reporting. The group identified that a carbon reporting tool would be helpful to streamline the process for trusts and reduce duplication of work.

A pilot MS Excel tool is now available on the FutureNHS platform here

The tool allows users to input activity data for areas of the organisation's footprint. Emissions are estimated with the published carbon factors for use in the NHS. Charts are output by the tool for reporting, monitoring and communication of the trusts carbon footprint.

As this is a new tool, please take care to check outputs and report any issues or bugs found. Feedback will help us refine this tool and plan future iterations of tools for carbon reporting.
