Healthwatch - David Blacklock

David is the Chief Executive of People First, a regional Advocacy Organisation which provides statutory and non-statutory services to many thousands of people across the north of England. People First also delivers Healthwatch Lancashire and Healthwatch Cumbria. David represents the ‘Healthwatch Together’ partnership of 4 local Healthwatch that operate in Lancashire and South Cumbria. 

Healthwatch is the statutory, independent champion for those that use health and care services.

David has worked in the health and care sector for all his career, he is a passionate advocate for the rights of our most vulnerable citizens and believes strongly in involving people in shaping and designing the services that they use.

As an experienced senior leader David has been key in the governance, setting strategy, and performance management of statutory organisations and currently holds seat on Health and Wellbeing Boards, System Learnership Boards, local authority Scrutiny Committees, Safeguarding Adult Boards. Previously David has been an independent panel member on the Cumbria Adoption Panel, North Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Groups Governing Body’s, and a school governor.
