Have your say on Accrington GP practice relocation

People registered at two Accrington GP practices have been asked to have their say ahead of proposals to relocate the surgeries.

Dr Bello’s Surgery in Church Street and King Street Medical Centre are proposing to relocate into Acorn Primary Health Care Centre in Blackburn Road. This is because the lease on their current buildings is about to come to an end.

To allow those registered with the practices to have a say, an online survey has been created and drop-in sessions have been arranged on 8 and 11 November.

Dr Gladstone Bello, GP partner at both practices, said: “We are coming to the end of the lease on our two existing buildings and to continue in these locations would not represent value for money.

“We know there are premises close to us which can offer modern purpose-built surroundings, allowing our patients to receive healthcare in a more appropriate setting with better access and with appropriate facilities for 21st-century healthcare.

“We also know that any proposals for change such as this can cause concern and lead to questions so we would encourage our patients to complete the online survey or pop in and see us at our drop-ins on 8 and 11 November.”

To have your say on the proposal, complete the survey at www.lancashireandsouthcumbria.icb.nhs.uk/dr-bellos-king-street. Paper copies of the survey are also available from the practice reception desk.

If you wish to speak to someone in person, drop-in sessions will be held at Dr Bello’s Surgery on Friday 8 November and at King Street Medical Centre on Monday 11 November, both from 10am to 11.30am. No appointment is necessary, just turn up.
