HSJ Awards shortlist success for region
Date posted: 11th August 2022Twelve teams from NHS organisations in Lancashire and South Cumbria will be hoping for victory later this year after being named finalists in the HSJ Awards.
Among the nominations is the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board, which has been nominated for Workforce Initiative of the Year for its saliva-testing programme (LAMP testing) based out of a lab at the University of Central Lancashire supporting NHS staff to work safely throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and easing pressure on national testing centres. The centre was established in just three weeks right at the start of the pandemic.
Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust has been shortlisted for six awards: Freedom to Speak Up Award, Innovation and Improvement in Reducing Healthcare Inequalities Award, Mental Health Innovation of the Year, Patient Safety Award, Primary and Community Care Innovation of the Year and Staff Wellbeing Award.
The other finalists were:
- Driving Efficiency Through Technology Award: North West Ambulance Service – Building a smart, connected ambulance station
- Military and Civilian Health Partnership Award: East Lancashire Hospitals Trust – Armed Forces veteran project
- Patient Safety Award: Blackpool Teaching Hospitals – Eliminating pressure ulcers during COVID-19
- System-led Support for Carers Award: n-compass – Lancashire Carers Service partnership and engagement team
- Workforce Initiave of the Year: Lancashire Teaching Hospitals – Medical intern project
There were 1,067 entries from hundreds of applicants with 219 projects and individuals making it to the final shortlist (from across 162 organisations).
The selected winners will be announced during an awards ceremony at the Battersea Evolution Centre, London on 17 November 2022.
