As the NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB celebrates its second birthday this month, a number of partner members to the board meetings have concluded a term in their roles and a thorough expressions of interest process across partner organisations has been concluded to agree new partner members up to July 2026.

Dr. Geoff Jolliffe, a Barrow-in-Furness GP, has concluded his term as primary care partner member. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Geoff for his significant contributions to our organisation and his role in the early development of the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB. We wish him the best for exciting challenges ahead.

Dr. Julie Colclough (pictured), from Cartmel Medical Practice in Grange-over-Sands, will take up the role as the new primary care partner member. Julie will join the Board on 17 July for her first meeting and we look forward to her contributions during her tenure.

Later this year, Angie Ridgwell will be leaving Lancashire County Council and will therefore stand down from her role as the board’s local authority partner member. The meeting in July will be her final ICB Board meeting and Denise Park, Chief Executive of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, will join future meetings.

Additionally, Abdul Razaq, from Blackburn with Darwen Council, has stepped down as a regular participant of the board. We welcome Sakthi Karunanithi, director of public health for Lancashire County Council, who will be attending his first meeting on 17 July. We thank Abdul for his valuable contributions to the board and look forward to working with Sakthi as improving population health is a key priority for the ICB and the wider the health and care system.

With these new appointments, the ICB continues to ensure representation from all four of our partner local authorities, maintaining a collaborative and inclusive approach to healthcare governance in our region.
