People living in Lancashire who are eligible for a free winter vaccine can make use of a pop-up service visiting various locations this month.

Vaccine teams will be heading out across the county over the next couple of weeks, offering COVID-19 and flu vaccinations to those who have so far not taken up the offer.

Full details of the pop-up clinics, including timings and postcodes, can be found at www.lancashireandsouthcumbria.icb.nhs.uk/our-work/covid-19-vaccination-programme

Carole McCann, chief nurse for the vaccination programme in Lancashire and South Cumbria, said: “We know that some people have been meaning to get the flu and COVID-19 vaccines since we launched our autumn and winter campaign back in October, but just haven’t found the time.

“Vaccine vans and other pop-ups have proven popular in recent years as we try to make it as convenient as possible for people to get their jabs.

“We hope to see as many eligible people coming forward to get themselves protected against both of these diseases, which are still particularly prevalent at this time of year.

“All adults aged 65 years and over, as well as carers, pregnant women, health and social care staff, and others that are immunosuppressed or at risk can just turn up at the pop-up events to get their vaccine – you don’t need to have had an invite.”
