Winter vaccinations available for adults aged 65+

As we get older, our bodies can find it harder to fight off infections. 

Getting your free winter vaccintations can:

  • help to reduce your risk of getting severe symptoms.
  • help you to recover more quickly if you catch COVID-19 or Flu.
  • protect against different strains of viruses.

If you are aged 65 and over, you are eligible for free COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations.

You can get the free COVID-19 vaccination if you are 65 years old or older.

We want to make it as easy as possible for eligible people in Lancashire & South Cumbria to get their free COVID-19 vaccination. You can no longer book a COVID-19 vaccination using this online service and bookings can also no longer be made through the 119 service.

The RSV vaccine helps protect against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a common virus that can make babies and older adults seriously ill. It's recommended during pregnancy and for adults aged 75 to 79.

RSV is a common cause of coughs and colds. Most people get it several times during their life. It usually gets better by itself, but in some people (especially babies and older adults) it can cause illnesses such as:

Your GP surgery will usually contact you about getting the RSV vaccine. This may be by letter, text, phone call or email.
