Preferred Provider Framework

Principles of a Primary Care Local Provider Framework

The creation of a Primary Care Local Provider Framework is aimed at supporting GP Partners with a more streamlined, speedier, and simplified approach to exploring a new GP Provider/Partner.    It brings this process (procurement) upfront of Commissioners and puts GP Partners in the driving seat.  It is a new idea of streamlining what is seen as a complex process.

This should be seen as another "tool" in the box for General Practice to sustain their own Practices.

It also removes the need to run lengthy and expensive tender processes each time.   Providers will need to apply to join the framework and must demonstrate they meet an agreed standard / criterion.

This is a Work In Progress ................
